P-MODELの頭脳、平沢進氏は、ソロ作では「SIM CITY」以降
「siren」「救済の技法」と一貫して、
『テクノのリズム＋アジア民謡のサンプリング＋自身の歌』
という作風でアルバムを作り続けてきました。
前作「救済の技法」も名曲揃いの素晴らしいアルバムでした
が、本作は更にそれを上回る、今のところ平沢ソロの最高峰
と言える出来でしょう。

何しろ全編に漂う妖しげな、偽中世風の雰囲気が良い。
まさに「錬金術」というテーマがしっくり来る、コンセプト
アルバム的な整合感があります。
音楽的には、サンプルの選択が絶妙で、スピリチュアルな
響きを感じさせるものが多く、ある種、氾アジア的偽宗教
音楽とでも言うような印象を受けます。

平沢氏のヴォーカルも冴え渡っており、お得意の民謡風の
節回しが炸裂しております。もう○歳にならんとするお年
なのに、声は実に若い。ご本人の多重録音による、通称
「バカコーラス（馬鹿みたいに重ねたコーラス）」や、
おなじみの「偽ソプラノ」も実に効果的に使われています。

とにかく誰にも似ていない、全編これ平沢印の音楽であり、

普通のポップスに飽いた人にはオススメできます。
特に、民族音楽に興味があったりする方、ヒーリング音楽
ではちょっと物足りない方、昔ニューエイジが好きだった
方などの琴線には、きっとふれることでしょう。

　千年女優を見て、平沢巨匠を知りました。平沢巨匠の美声が、規則的で計算されたテクノの作為的な音楽に揺らぎを与え、聞けば聞くほどはまります。まず始めは言葉を理解しよう等と努力せず、車などでずーっと流し放しにしていると体にしみ込むような気がします。まあ、結局は好きずきですから、宝探しの一枚と考えて買ってみるのがお勧めです。

最近、簡単に音楽が作られるようになった。手軽に作って、手軽に聴く･･･。だから、すぐに忘れてしまう･･･。平沢進の音楽は、これらに真っ向から対立しているように思う。そこには、綿密に練られた楽曲と、何千年もかけて脳から滲み出てきたような詞が、広がっている。
