落ち込み、気が滅入ったときに聴きたくなる音楽。例えばスミスなどは
まだ心に微かな余裕がある時、絶望に浸るだけの力がある時に聴く音楽
だと（勝手に）思います。
でもそれすらも叶わない領域に達したとき、僕はこのアルバムをよく
聴きます。何も考えることなく、遙か遠くに自分を押し流してくれる音。
闇の中にたゆたう快感。歌詞の中に「あいつはぼくのともだちさ、
光なんかより　もっともっとまぶしいやつさ」という一節がありますが、
それが全てを表していると思います。
昼よりも夜に惹かれてしまう全ての人に聴いて欲しい音です。

灰野敬二の音源を聴いて（もしくはイメージで）、難解？て言うかちっとも良くないよ!と感じている人こそ、是非この作品を聴いてみて下さい。この作品は間違いなく（おそらくこれから先も含め）灰野敬二の作品の中で最も聴きやすい作品です。私自身この作品から灰野作品を聴いていなかったら他の灰野作品は聴いていないと断言できます。他の灰野敬二の音源で懲りてこの音源を聴かないというのはかなり勿体ないです。

内容の方はツインギター時の曲もあり、他の灰野敬二作品と比べシンプルにロックのカタルシスを得ることができます。しかし、そのロックのカタルシスが他のアブストラクトな灰野作品と比較しても少しも減退していないところは流石。あと、灰野敬二はギターが弾けないと思っている人は是非本作を聴いて下さい。私も過去はそう思っていたのですが、本作を聴いて目からウロコが落ちました。失礼を承知で敢えて言いますが…、普通に巧いです…。次にギターのトーン選択の的確さに関心しました。そして何より曲が良い。激しさと優しさが仄暗い陶酔感を伴ってじわじわやってくるとでも言うのでしょうか…。

話はすこし飛躍しますが、ロッキンオンを毎月読んでいる人もどうか敬遠せずに聴いてみて下さい。メディアで取り上げられないものにも凄いものがあるということがわかると思います。

灰野敬二を中心としたフリー・フォーム・ロックバンド。

サウンドコンセプトに「リヴァーブ・ジャンキー」を掲げ、
フル・ヴォリュームで音の泉を探求する。

その混沌とした音世界は、
頭で理解しようとせずに肌で感じるべきもの。

街の喧騒、
雨が地下道に落ちてゆく音、
建築現場のノイズ…….
そのどれもが彼らの手にかかると、
あらゆるファクターに昇華される。

かつて灰野は
自宅でテープを回し続け、
さまざまな「音」をテープに録り貯めていたという。
それは、現代におけるサンプリングの概念と
オーバーラップする行為だった。
灰野曰く「すべての音を自由にしたい。
どんな音も捨てたくない」とも語っており、
かなりの音コレクターであったようだ。

それは50年代のシュトック・ハウゼンや、
現代音楽家のジョン・ケージ、
もっと新しいところではスロッビング・グリッスルや
ノイバウテン、クラウシュルツといったアーティストの手法に通じる。

不失者は、
あたりまえの概念を嫌ったバンドと認識されがちだが、
実際には「生活の中で当たり前のように発せられる音」を
ファクターとしているのだ。
