美しい歌メロ、耽美的・幻想的な詩世界、ギターシンセを多用したサウンド、ロックとクラシックが優雅に融合し、そこにフレンチポップやシャンソンなどの要素も加わってバラエティ豊かな内容となっている。ヨーロッパの貴族が午後に散歩しているような明るい雰囲気から、暗く頽廃的、エロティックな曲まで様々。
「Transylvania」はその名の通りドラキュラの物語。クラシカルで壮大、演劇的。
「追憶の破片」はマリスの中でもかなり好きな曲。寂しげなピアノから始まり、マリスの真髄、激しくて美しい、バロック音楽のような旋律でハモるツインギターが全編にわたって繰り広げられ（メタルとは違う独特の気品あり）苦悩に満ちた暗く内省的な詩世界を悲劇的なメロディーに乗せて歌い上げる。特にサビがカッコよすぎる！
「偽りのmusette」はアコーディオンの調べや歌メロにどこか懐かしいものを感じる。切なく純粋、メルヘンな曲でありながら、どこか狂気をはらむ。
「N.p.s N.g.s」はサディスティックにして自虐的、狂気に歪んだエロスの世界。「偽りのmusette」での想いが暴走してこうなるのか？突然演奏が途切れてチェンバロの旋律がだんだん近付いてきたり、ひねくれた曲調だが、サビは舞い上がるようなメロディアスさ。
「死の舞踏」は「これぞマリス！」という名曲。「追憶の破片」と同様にバロック音楽風のツインギターが美しくハモり、暗さを帯びた華やかさを優雅に演出する。悪魔と契約して自らの死とひきかえに一夜限りの美貌を取り戻し舞踏会へと向かう…という女の物語を様々に表情を変える曲展開で演劇的に表現。テンポチェンジや転調が非常に巧み。

全ての曲に「これがマリスだ」という共通したものがあり、アルバムとしてとてもよくまとまっています。暗く重いメロディーを持つ曲もあれば、ポップでありつつマリスらしい曲もあってバランスがいいのです。
Voyage以降の作品も同じ事が言えますが、曲が耳にすっと入っていきます。思わず口ずさみたくなるものが豊富です。

インディーズの頃の作品ですが完成度は非常に高いです。
買って損はしないはず。

本当にガクト様の麗しき声とピアノは美しく心に染み込む様です。マリスとは現代の作曲家ともいうべきバンドではないでしょうか。もう1度あの頃のマリスミゼルが見たい！ 聞きたい！歌いたい！と思います。妖艶と軽快なリズムの感動はこの1枚でどうぞ！
