シングル"Knives Out"と並んでRADIOHEADのシングルとしては屈指の出来です。
タイトル曲は複雑なリズムとミニマルな進行をトムのピアノを中心に昇華させていく名曲。
好きになるには時間が要るかもしれませんが、一度好きになってしまうとシングル選曲になるほどと感嘆してしまいます。
よくぞ仕上げたなぁ~と溜息を漏らしてしまうほど素晴らしい楽曲です。

細かいサウンドまで入念に計算され尽くしています。ジョニーの弾くマルトノが印象的。

B面曲はどれもAmnesiac期を象徴するエレクトロ要素とトライバルでオーガニックな要素が上手にミックスされています。
これでもかと言うほどに作り込まれています。
特筆すべきは"Trans"でしょうか。

ジョニーのギターがやば過ぎです。1弦でキリキリとトレモロを奏でまくっていて頭痛がするほどです（笑）
トムの吐き捨てるようなヴォーカルとロックなリフが非常にかっこいい佳曲です。

非西洋的なストリングスと変拍子で奇妙なリズムを奏でるピアノがメインの曲。最初は「これがシングル？」と思ったが今となっては彼らの楽曲のなかでもかなり名曲と思うようになった。楽曲自体も良いのだが、音がいい。エレクトロニカを通過した彼らのサウンドは明らかに良い方向に変化した。これはいわゆる「ロック」ではないかもしれないが、「KID・A」の時とはまた違った個性を聴かせてくれる。

如何せん僕はこのシングルに収められた*kineticという曲が好きなのである。気が遠くなってゆく者の意識を克明に表したかのような曲調には誰もが言葉を失うだろう。シングルを一枚もきらなかったアルバムとしてKID Aがあるが、あのアルバムは全体において霧がかったようなトーンに包まれていた。しかし*kineticにおいて霧はひどく晴れている。剥き出しにされた灰色の地表で打ち鳴らされるサンプリングは精神を醒ますよう働くと同時に疲弊させる。バンドのうちでもっとも内向的な曲に違いない。
