ヴィブラートが汚い。
JAZZが関西風になっている。
どう歌っても綾戸智絵。

でもそんなのかんけーねー（古い・・汗）

1曲目「Blue　Skies」から綾戸節が炸裂します。
7曲目「Work　Song」はもともと好きな曲、投げやりな感じがまたいい♪
9曲目「Can't　Help　Falling　in　Love」は、
きっとロスの教会で、綾戸智絵が歌ったら
「天使にラブソングを」のように、楽しいんだろうなと想像できる曲

一枚まるっと楽しいです♪

なにわのジャズ・シンガー、綾戸智絵がブレイク寸前の充実した時期を迎えていた頃の作品。なにしろそのパワフルな生き様から来る力強さに、すっかり元気を貰ってしまうアルバム。音楽ってやっぱりいいなぁと素直に思わされてしまう。英訳して歌われる槙原の11も、原作よりも断然かっこいい。すこしくどい16とかより、宮野弘紀のＧが美しい3や、Ｂ.森下滋とのデュオの8が好き。
ただし、このアルバムをピークに、以降段々とパワーは落ちてきて、おばちゃんをターゲットに懐かしの名曲を歌う大阪のオモロイおばちゃんになりかかってしまってます。今一度、充電期間を於いてでも原点に戻ってほしいです。

2000年4月の発売ですから10年前の収録ですが、今も昔も凄い歌唱だな、と感じさせる曲の連続です。雄弁ですし、それでいて繊細です。「魂の叫び」を披露した後の空白の時間を埋める絶妙のピアノ。ジャズというジャンルを超えて、本物しか持ち得ない凄みに圧倒される思いです。

リーフレットの楽曲の解説はいつものアヤドが絶妙の語り口で語っており、ステージ同様笑わせます。村松友視の「眩暈の中で」というアヤド讃歌ともいうべき文章が温かく秀逸でした。

8曲目の「悲しみのジェット・プレーン」が大好きです。最愛の恋人と別れを惜しみながら、ジェット機に乗って飛び立っていくという歌です。アヤドの切々とした歌声が原曲を上回る感動をもたらしてくれます。オリジナル曲とは全く雰囲気の違う仕上がりのアヤド節がオススメです。

軽快な「どんなときも」からは「人生、そんなに捨てたもんやないで」という語りが聞こえてきそうです。生きるエネルギーをリスナーはもらえそうです。

「My Funny Valentine」の歌唱はジャズ歌手の範疇というよりも表現力豊かなブルース・シンガーでした。人生の辛酸をなめ、乗り越え、たくましく生き抜いているアヤドの真骨頂が炸裂した曲ですね。
ほかの収録曲もそうなのですが、綾戸智絵にスロー・バラードを歌わせたら天下一品です。「Danny Boy」のどこか懐かしくて物悲しい雰囲気がたまりません。

全曲がスタンダード・ナンバーですし、ポップスもジャズも全てアヤド色に染め上げられています。オリジナルを知っている曲ほど驚きの展開がなされており、それぞれどのように歌いまわしているかを聴く楽しみは堪えられません。
