放射能汚染に恐怖させた１作目、宇宙人の侵略に脅威させた２作目。後の完結編もそうですが、作者は宇宙に対する素朴な疑問や恐怖をヤマトを使って打破してきた気がします。この３（…４？５？）作目も例に漏れず、太陽が爆発したら地球人の住める星は他にあるのか…。難問に答えようとしています。おかげで、銀河系全部を又に掛け、異次元宇宙にも触手が伸びるという恐ろしいスケールですが…。内容、グラフィックともに全作中でも最高です！何度も見たくなります。内容は…見てからのお楽しみですね(^^ゞ
それにしてもヤマトって…強すぎません？

宇宙戦艦ヤマトも３になると主人公の古代進が艦長に就任する。
親友島は副長になるがやはり同期の古代との間に軋轢が生じる。

過去生死の境を一緒に戦ってきた友だけあってじきにうち解けるのだが．．．。太陽の核融合異常増進により銀河系中心部に第二の地球を探しに出発したヤマトだったが、ガルマン帝国とボラー連邦の星間戦争に巻き込まれ、どちらからも敵視され攻撃を受ける。だが戦艦一隻なのに圧倒的強さで敵艦隊を打ち破っていくヤマト。でもついにヤマトシリーズで唯一拿捕され捕虜になってしまう。しかしガルマン帝国は友人のデスラー総統の国だったのだ。人間模様や友人との再会、定番の女神の登場など見所いっぱい。

ガミラスとボラー連邦との宇宙戦争中、流れ弾が太陽に命中し、地球が異常気象になりヤマトが新天地を探すため宇宙に旅立ち、その先々での出来事が描かれています。今回は新乗組員の成長が大きなテーマだと私は思いました。攻撃班に配属希望を出した新乗組員「土門」は古代の命で生活班に回され不満を募らせながら仕事をします。しかし、仕事をこなすうちに食事メニューを考えることにより周りの人間への配慮、先輩の死や敵兵を倒してしまった罪悪感により命の重みを知ったり、一人の人間として大きく成長する様が描かれていました。ヤマト３は私にとっても教養の一部になりました。
