私が音楽を聴く上で重要視しているのが、短調か長調かということである。
この曲は、短調と長調のコントラストが非常に見事である。間奏部分は全てイ短調で、歌の入る部分は全てハ長調（Ｂメロが微妙かもしれないが）といった具合に。
そして、そのコントラストはタイトルどおり「終わりなき悲しみ」を見事に表現している。間奏部分（歌以外の部分）を全て短調にすることによって現実の世界における絶望を表現し、歌の部分は長調にすることによって、浜崎はそれでも希望を見出そうとする祈り子となる。この曲の五分余りは、その両者の葛藤によって終始構成されている。（しかし最終的には短調、すなわち絶望で幕を閉じることになるのだが）
これほどまでに、長調と短調を効果的に使った曲は、音楽界全体を見渡しても稀ではないだろうかと思う。

個人的にPVが曲にとてもよく合っていると思うので、
機会がある方は是非見てみて下さい。
あゆはほとんど出てきませんがとても綺麗な物語だと思います。

この曲と詞を聞くたびにいいなと思う。涙がでてくる(涙)
本当にあゆの歌でいつも勇気付けられる。
いっぱい良い歌があるから迷うけどあゆの曲の中では一番好きな歌かな!!

あゆのバラード。あゆの場合翼がキーワード。デペンドオンユウでは、一緒に旅立ちこの曲では翼がなくても、、応援歌に仕上がってる。
