うーんなんといえばよいか。ＣＤの評価で星５つにしてるわりには、ことばにしにくい感想。これはお酒にたとえるといいかな。

テキーラとか強い酒だけどまずいわけじゃない。石野卓球もそうでものすごくつよい音楽ってことで。この人と電気グルーヴが中和しあってまたべつの意味でよくなる。まりんが電グルにいたときもまたよかった。そんなかんじです。新世紀に聴いてみては？

　これは2001年にリリースされたダンス･アルバムのNo.1候補（ベストテン圏内であることはまちがいない）のひとつ（次点はBASEMENT JAXXか）。

　石野卓球は、良くも悪くも90年代後半の、日本の特殊な「テクノ・シーン」の代表に祭り上げられてしまったため、彼の世界性はほとんど顧みられることなく無視されるか、あるいは（ドイツと日本の）テクノ･サブカルチャー内部の評価に還元されてしまっていたように思う。彼自身も自分がそのような閉塞した状況の中で活動を続けざるを得なかったことにフラストレーションを感じていただろうし、ここ3、4年の電気グルーヴの音にその屈折した感じが表現されていたと思う（そして砂原義徳の脱退！）｡

　今回のアルバムのような、露骨な「原点回帰｣は、そのような「屈折｣の延長上にあるようにも見えるかもしれない。しかしこの「何周も回って帰ってきた」音が、今現在の、世界的なダンスシーン（レイ!カルチャー）のド真ん中を射抜いていることは確かであり、そしてこれは偶然ではなく、彼が「日本のテクノサブカルチャー」から逸脱している側面、つまり彼の世界性が、正しく音になっているだけのことだと思う｡

　とくに"chieko's acid experience"なんていう「そのまんまやん！｣とツッコミを入れたくなるタイトルの曲なんかは、サイケデリックス(acid)体験の希薄だった「日本のテクノシーン」では絶対に理解されることのなかった音だと思う｡
