ちょっとエモーショナルすぎるかな、とも思う。ただ、激情を叩きつけるだけの単調な心象風景に終わっていないのが、彼女の非凡さを伝えている。安易な共感を寄せ付けない孤高のオーラを持っているだけに、同性にどのような支持のされ方をするのか、そこのところが気になる。正直このセカンド・マキシも、女性シンガーの作品に食傷気味ゆえか、個人的には「才能はあるんだろうな」程度の淡いリアクション。ちょっと入らせてもらえなかった。あまりに見事なのでそこが魅力なのかもしれないと思った次第である。 (平野敬三) --- 2001年05月号
