私は北海道の出身ですが、学生のときにスキー場に行くと
いつもFreeze My Loveがかかっていました。

当時は誰の曲かも知らなかったのですが、
一度聴いてとても気に入ったことを覚えています。
ダイアモンドダストを連想させる儚さと激しさの同居したサウンド。
情念すら感じさせます。
また、後にYes,Summerdaysで爆発的に開花するセンスのあるメロディライン。

”クリスマス”などの特定の時期に限定せず、
冬というものを媒介とした切なさ、危うさが
実に高いレベルで表現できていると思います。

後に、彼らが北海道の出身ということを聞いて非常に納得しました。

このREVIEWという彼らの軌跡の集大成的な位置づけの作品で
Freeze My Loveという曲が収録されていることに
北海道出身者として非常に嬉しく感じています。

GLAYで冬を感じさせる曲ではこのFreeze My LoveとWinter,againが
個人的にオススメです。

このCDアルバムは'97 10.01に発売された、ロックバンド『GLAY』の初のベストアルバムだ。
後にコンプリートべストの『DRIVE』が発売されるが、この時点では'97までのヒットシングルや
アルバム中の名作などが収録されている。ちなみに初回限定版ではポストカードが付属されていた。

　０１：グロリアス…8thシングルのこの曲によってGLAYが世に出たと言っても過言でもないだ
ろう。ミディアムテンポで聴きやすい曲になっている。０２：彼女の"Modern"…3rdシングル。典
型的なロックでLiveの定番。０３：BELOVE…9thシングルのこの曲で大ヒット。GLAYの名を不
動のものにした。０４：More than Love…ライブのノリが反映されたロックテイストの曲。０５：
千ノナイフガ胸ヲ刺ス…インディーズアルバムに収録されているこの曲。このアルバムではカヴァー
曲となった。０６：ずっと２人で…TERUの姉の結婚式で歌われた5thシングル。カラオケランキン
グでは今でも上位にランクインされている。０７：口唇…11stシングル。GLAYロックの代表曲。

カップリングの春を愛する人も有名。０８：RHAPSODY…アルバムBELOVED収録のPOP曲。０９
：HOWEVER…この曲を知らない人はおそらくいないだろう…。究極のGLAYバラード。１０：Free
ze My Love…4thシングル。Liveではアレンジをえ、より深い曲に。１１：KISSIN' NOISE…千ノ
ナイフ~と同じくカヴァーされてこのアルバムに収録。Liveでもよくやる曲。１２：軌跡の果て…アルバム『BEATout!』収録の曲。その名の通りGLAYの軌跡を記したバラード曲。

「BELOVED」や「HOWEVER」といった名曲が入っているのでおすすめの一品だと思います。個人的に僕は「軌跡の果て」が好きなので★五つ。
