リミックスアルバムというのは多いが、最近は元の曲の原型が分からないような解体をされたものも多い。そんな中で、歌心を肝とするグループのキリンジのこのリミックスシリーズは、各リミキサーがキリンジの歌を大切にして、メロディを大崩ししていないのがうれしい。その中でも秀逸なのは、M3のsugiurumn「サイレンの歌」とM5　Ryosuke Araiの「エイリアンズ」だ。しっかりとキリンジのボーカルを残しながらも全くイメージの違う曲へと変えた。M3は、元々はけだるいスローな曲をかなりアッパーで踊れる曲へと、M5はよりアーバンなソウル風味漂う都会的なサウンドへと昇華させている。次点はより軽快さを増したＦＰＭの「グッデイ・グッバイ」といったところか。

しかし、いつも思うのは、キリンジというのは音楽の洗練され具合に比べ、ジャケはいつもギャグみたいなトホホジャケが多いのはなぜなんだろう？

リミックスアルバムは当たりはずれが激しいですが、これは傑作ぞろい。
原曲を聞いたときはさほど引っ掛かりが無かったのに、リミックスを聴いた後に原曲に戻ると、不思議なことに原曲が前より違った印象で聴こえてくることがありました。これにはびっくり！

原曲のアレンジが通好みで、歌詞も（初期は特に）ひねりがきいてて屈折した表現が多いので分かりずらかったりするキリンジですが、実はメロディが肝だ！とリミックスで今更気付かされたしだいです。
どれもいいですが、個人的なお気に入りはSUGIURUMNとFPMです。SUGIURUMNはアルバムまで買っちゃった。
ちなみにＲＭＸ２もおすすめです。

キリンジを既に聴き込んでいる人も、初めて聴く人も絶対楽しめます。もともとメロディーが綺麗なキリンジの曲は、リミックスに最適。エイリアンズ、君の胸に抱かれたい、サイレンの歌、牡牛座ラプソディ他、名曲ぞろいです。リミックス陣も福富幸宏、FPM、SUGIURUMNと豪華。期待して損は無いと思いますよ。
