パーカーを愛する彼は，1969年にも日野皓正，渡辺文男ら日本人ミュージシャンとパーカーの曲でライブアルバム（SADAO WATANABE / DEDICATED TO CHARLIE PARKER）を出している他，パーカーを取り上げることが多い。

このアルバムは今から２０年ほど前のライブで，当時若手のミュージシャンを起用してパーカーの曲を中心に全国ツアーを行ったときのものである。

彼は無名の若手を見つけ，育てることをとても大切にしているように思う。最近のライブでも10代のドラマーを起用してツアーを行っている。このときのバックをつとめた若手トリオ（当時10代後半から30代前半）の演奏は，テンポキープも含め少々荒削りな印象だが，とても息が合っていてエキサイティング。その演奏を高みから温かい目で見つめ，美しくスケールの大きな曲に仕立て上げていく芸術家ナベサダの演奏は白眉。楽しむことができるDVDである。
全編白黒なのと，同名のライブアルバム（CD）より曲が少ないのが残念。
