空き缶や空きビンなどを打楽器として用いたヤルヴレップの「がらくた協奏曲」、オーケストラでロックを演奏したカルニンシュの「ロック交響曲」など、ユニークなレパートリーを収録した1枚。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

「がらくた協奏曲」は“リサイクル・ゴミと管弦楽のための”という副題の通り、ゴミから生まれた管・打楽器を独奏群としたものだが、タイトルから想像されるような“お笑い音楽”ではなく、アジア・アフリカ風リズム主体の協奏曲。「ロック交響曲」はロックやポップやクラシックをごちゃ混ぜにした作風で、どちらも20世紀音楽の重要な要素がリズムにあることを強く意識した作品。演奏は予想通り実にエネルギッシュでヴィヴィッド。特に強大なパワーとスピード感は、脱クラシック音楽ならでは。 (石原立教) --- 2001年06月号

　このCDに収められている2曲は、どちらも新鮮なものです。
　一曲目のリサイクルごみとオーケストラのための協奏曲は、見事にごみが楽器へと変身しています。ごみを叩いているとはとても思えないです(クルマータ･パーカッション･アンサンブルがすばらしいためかもしれませんが)。

　二曲目のロック交響曲は、とても新鮮な曲です。「オーケストラをこんな風に使うのか･･･」と思わずつぶやいてしまいます。僕はあまりロックは聞かないので、この曲がロック的なのかどうかはわかりませんが、少なくとも、ドラムなどを取り入れてその雰囲気を醸し出そうとしているということは判ります。最後の盛り上がりがとてもいい曲です。
