　　アクエリアスはミケーレ・ソアビ監督の才能を感じさせた作品。前半は人物描写が丹念に行われており、ホラー映画としては冗長な印象を与えるが、ここまで、繊細な演出をするホラー監督は数少ないと思う。後半、殺人鬼が暴れだしてからは、スピーディーな演出が光る。

　　ただ、肝心のＤＶＤの画質に問題がある。このようなマスターを使ってＤＶＤ化するのであれば、製品化する価値はないだろう。中古のＬＤでも探して見たほうがよっぽどましである。映画自体は星４つだが、総合点では大幅減点はいたしかたあるまい。

　ダリオ・アルジェントの下で助手を務めてきたミケーレ・ソアビ監督のデビュー作で、アボリアッツ国際ファンタスティック映画祭では最優秀恐怖映画賞を受賞しました。大雨が降りしきる中で稽古をしていた演劇団員たちがスタジオの中に閉じ込められてしまい殺人鬼との対決を余儀なくされるというシンプルなストーリーですが、スタジオから出るのに必要となる鍵など小道具の使い方が抜群に上手く類似作の中でも特出した出来です。サイモン・ボスウェルの音楽もサスペンスを大いに盛り上げています。

フクロウのマスクをかぶっているという所はかっこいいし、オープニングからぐーっとひきつけられました。
どんなものかと観てみたら、とてもすてきでした。特に、殺人鬼(ウォレス)が死体をならべて椅子にすわりながら優越感(？)にひたっているシーンは必見です。そのシーンでかかる音楽もすばらしいと思う。
