オリジナル三人の姿が観れるだけで良しとしよう。そう思っていた昨年の来日公演は、予想をはるかに上回る現役感バリバリなものだった。『ライヴ・イン・ジャパン2000』を聴くと、あのときの感動がリアルに蘇ってくるのだが、今作も、どうせなら来日前に出してほしかったが、やはり身体じゅうに熱いものが込み上げてこないほうがウソな一枚だ。それにしても、88年の初来日の際にはほとんど情報のなかった彼らの作品がほとんど日本盤で発売されているという状況には隔世の感が。改めて思う。恐るべし、ミッシェル効果……。 (兒玉常利) --- 2001年04月号
