この作品には、みゆきさんのメッセージが強く込められていますね。最初から最後まで、濃厚な内容になっています。曲のアレンジをすれば名作になりそうな『幸福論』は好きですねぇ。どの曲も好きなんですが、『はじめまして』は本当に良く聴きます。2004年にアルバム『いまのきもち』が出ましたが、ヤハリと思いました。『はじめまして』が入っているんです。この曲にはみゆきさん本人の人生の歩む姿を描いているようにも感じられます。みゆきさんの歌う姿勢にも共通することです。

曲から曲への流れを一番意識して作られているアルバムで、
歌詞内容はともかく、サウンドしてはトータルアルバムの印象が強い。

とても希望を秘めてそうな出だして始まる１曲目の「僕は青い鳥」は、
結局辛そうな内容に終わってしまい、
２曲目の「幸福論」にいたっては、ちょっと悲惨系の歌詞が聞いていて辛い。
ただ悲しいときの慰めにはなるかな。少しみゆきさんの歌がフラット気味なのが残念。
切れ目なしに続く「ひとり」は、間延びしていたシングルバージョンと違い、
きりりと引き締まったバラードとして仕上がっている。
「生まれた時から」は聞いていて気持ちがいいくらい吹っ切れた音楽。
みゆきさん調かどうか聞かれると困るけど、いい音楽だと思う。

「不良」「シニカル・ムーン」「春までなんぼ」の３連続は圧巻。
どんちゃん騒ぎ風の「不良」から、スリムで渋い伴奏の「シニカル・ムーン」。
押さえて押さえて、最後のリフレインで爆発するかのような下降音型の伴奏が途中で切れたかと思うと、
切れ目なしに曲は「春までなんぼ」のスローでヘビーなロックバラードに続く。
「春までなんぼ」はのっけから上昇音型の伴奏で、
「シニカル・ムーン」と対照的で印象深い。

「僕たちの将来」は陽水の「傘がない」を連想させる歌詞だけど、
なんのことはない平凡なサウンドが、少しシニカルな歌詞を一層印象付ける。
生まれてくるときの心臓の音を表しているかのようなカウントを経て、
切れ目なしに始まる「はじめまして」は、これこそそれまでのみゆきさんのまとめと言うべき内容。
あまり幸せでない内容が、強がりっぽく吹っ切れて歌われる。
吹っ切れて華やかに終わったかと思うと、思い出すように心臓の音を連想させるリズム。
強がり言っても気持ちを引っ張ってしまっているところがなんとも切ない。

それまでのみゆきさんからすると大きな変化をもたらしたアルバムだけど、
今から見るとなんともおとなしいサウンドに思える。

みゆきさんが大切にしている言葉が、響き渡る作品だと思います。
コンサートなんかでもちょっとふざけた感じで、自分の作品にたいして解説することはないんだけど、言葉を聴くと、どんな気持ちなんだろうと想像させられるような作品です。
でも、ご本人は、想像でできた世界にお任せします。と、個々の受け取り方をいつも大切にしているので、それぞれの曲に耳を傾けて自分なりの解釈を！
