G・ラヴことギャレス・ダットン率いる三人組、G・ラヴ&スペシャル・ソースの通算5枚目。ブルース、ヒップホップ、ジャズ、ソウルなどをミックスした彼らならではのミクスチャー・サウンドは不変だ。が、一旦トリオに戻った前作に対し、今回は再びゲストを迎えての録音で、ジョン・メデスキをはじめヴァイオリン、女性シンガーなどが加わっている。で、どうかといえば、やはりサウンドやアレンジの幅が広がっていい感じ。そろそろこうした適材適所の人選で大胆に方向転換、っていうのもおもしろそうだが。 (関本史生) --- 2001年06月号

~ますますカッコ良くなるミュージシャンがＧラブです。

買った当初は、１stのスモーキーな雰囲気が薄くなった感じにあまりピンと来ませんでしたが、こうしてしばらくたってから聴いてみると順調にバンドが成長していっていることを確認することができました。地に足のついたとでも言える進化の仕方は、男が憧れるような年の取り方？そんな感じがあります。
