ゴスペルアルバムと呼べるかどうかは別として、このアルバムが日本のゴスペル音楽ファンに偉大な影響を与えたのは事実である。 今日多くの日本人がゴスペル音楽に興味を持ってると言われている中、そのきっかけの多くはこのアルバムまたは映画によるものだという。 特にこのアルバムのバージョンの「His Eye Is On The Sparrow (一羽のすずめ)」は、コンサートなどでノンクリスチャンのアーティストらによってカヴァーされることもあるくらい。 もちろんこの映画のハイライトでもある「Joyful, Joyful」もお薦め。

実はカジノの売れっ子クラブシンガーである、シスター・メリークラレンスが再び尼さんとして帰ってきた。前作をはるかに上回る音楽の完成度、そして生徒とウーピーゴールドバーグ扮するシスターとの心の交流を描いた感動作だ。作品の中で生徒たちが歌う聖歌に涙した人も少なくはないだろう。

映画は、ビデオとＴＶで何度となく観ています（ＴＶでは何回もヤッてますが、つい観てしまう..）が、実は以前から「ローリン・ヒル」が出ている本作（天使にラヴ・ソングを・・・2）のことが気になっていました。そして、今回ついにＣＤを購入して聞いてみますと、やっぱりエエですねぇ〜　タイトルにも記したように、ウピーの歌は上手だしローリンも最高ですね。機会が有れば自分でもゴスペルに挑戦してみたくなりますね。
