なんといってもこのアニメのいいとこは個性の強いキャラ、ストーリーもさることながら、主題歌の”ミッドナイトサブマリン”でしょう。幼稚園の頃、テレビまんが３０のテープを何度もここだけ繰り返し聞いてたのを思い出します。決して安くないけど、買ってまず損はないと思いますよ、多分。

あなたはどれだけの映画を観てきましたか？

この作品を観れば、あなたの映画“通”度が測れます。タツノコプロのスタッフが持てる力の全てを注ぎ込んで作り上げた作品がここにあります。“パクリ”と言ってしまえばそれまでですが、この作品のいたるところに、これまでに人類が積み上げてきた映像のエッセンスが凝縮されています。

それを“セルアニメ”という手法で再現した制作スタッフに拍手。もちろん、タツノコプロならではのオリジナリティあふれる映像も満載。その質の高さは２１世紀の今観ても、古さを全く感じさせない。

全国で放映されなかったことは不運であったが、今となっては、毎週この映像に触れられたことの希少さが観た者の幸福感をさらに大きくする作品といってもよい。しかし、そうでない者も、このＤＶＤボックスを手に入れれば、同じ幸福を味わえる。やや高価かもしれないが、鑑賞したあとはきっと、そんなことは忘れてしまうに違いない。

　このアニメがテレビ放映された1983年、ちょうど私はアニメの主人公たちであるリュウやソフィア、クロードとほぼ同い年だった。だから、余計に思い入れがある作品なのかもしれない。
　放映から20年経っても、未だ「アニメで一番好きな作品」が、ジブリ作品なんぞじゃなくこの「ウラシマン」なのだ。

　ＤＶＤ化されたことも、ＢＯＸ発売されたのもつい最近まで知らなかった。しまったーっという感じである。ニーズがあるのだから、メーカーさん、ＢＯＸの２巻目も増産してください。
　私は「ウラシマン」があれば、ほかにアニメはいりません（笑）。
