5.0 out of 5 stars ６０年代の日本のロックがかくもカッコ良かったとは・・・, 2005/3/14
　ＧＳとは、レコード会社の販売戦略として歌謡曲に英米のロックの要素を取り込もうとする試みであったと理解しています。すなわち、ＧＳとは歌謡曲の１ジャンルでありました。しかし、白羽の矢が立ったのは、歌謡曲ではなく英米のロックを目指していた若いミュージシャン達だったようです。とはいえ、ＧＳの表の歴史はあくまでも歌謡曲の歴史の一幕であります。それを概観するには２枚組のＣＤ「ＧＳグレイテスト・ヒッツ」￥3,500 がお奨めです。歌謡曲として聴くならば秀作揃いです。
　ところで、この「ＧＳサイケデリック・パラダイス 」に収録されているのはＧＳを代表する作品群ではありません。しかし、またはそれ故なのか、彼らが一級のロック・ミュージシャンだったことを証明するには十分過ぎるほどの佳作がラインナップされています（一部はやっぱり歌謡曲ですが・・・）。このＣＤは言わば裏ＧＳ史として、ロック・ファンには必聴盤だと思いました。
