　発売されて以来、ジワジワとチャートを賑わせ、ロングヒットで各チャート番組を盛り上げた名曲だから、邦楽に少しでも興味のある方はご存知のかたが多いと思う。バンプのメンバーは藤原君(Vo.&G.)・チャマ(B.)・増川君(G.)・升君(dr.)の4人組で21世紀に21歳になったらしい。楽曲を手掛ける藤原君は、メロ作りも素晴らしいけどやっぱり天才詩人でしょう。天体観測、まさに何かが始まりそうなイントロ、淡々と曲は進んでいき、サビでは心をつっつかれて胸が騒ぎ久しぶりにせつない気分を味わうことになる。歌詞を追わなくても、メロディーと藤原君の声、そして4人のサウンド（大御所に期待するものは期待できないが、何か光るもの、今までに無いアレンジ、たぶん4人じゃないと完成されないもの）だけで!十分満足できる。しかしやっぱり天才詩人の藤原君の歌詞をおってほしい。受け止める側によって多様に解釈されると思うからそこを楽しんで頂きたい。カップリングの「バイバイサンキュー」は、21歳でこんなこと考えられるか？と奥深い歌詞（たぶんメロも）で、若い世代の心を動かすはずと確信させられた。

私がバンプを知ったのは、この曲が最初です。
最初はバンドの名前も知らなくて、ただ有線放送で流れると曲が終わる
まで聞いている程度でしたが、聞けば聞くほどひきつけられていきました。
そのうちテレビでとりあげられて｢BUMP OF CHICKEN｣というバンド名を
知って、その後他の曲も聞いていくうちに完璧にはまってしまいました。
メロディも歌詞も好きだし、藤原さんの声も聞きやすい。
何かキツイ事があったときに聞くと、少しだけど元気になれる気がします。
カップリング曲の「バイバイ、サンキュー」も、とてもいい曲です。
何かしらの旅立ちの前に聞けば、きっと元気が出てきますよ。

ドラマにもなったこの曲。
たぶん、バンプで一番有名なのではないでしょうか。
万人受けするようなメロディーに、物語的な詞。
初めて聞く人でも、気持ちよく聴けるんではないでしょうか。
この曲から聴いていき、ほかのバンプの歌を徐々に聴いていくと、
バンプにぐんぐん引かれていくと思います。
そのスタートとしてこのシングルを聴いてみてはいかがですか？
