5.0 out of 5 stars 最高のヴォーカルアルバム, 2003/4/20
やっぱりこの人はうまい！歌声に説得力があります。これは生まれもったものなので、努力すれば出る声じゃありません。前作の「LEGENDS」は長い曲が多かったのですが、今回はコンパクトな曲もあるし、キャッチーなメロディーも健在です。是非CITY WALLSやAGAINST THE WINDを聴いてみてください。ちなみにこのアルバムは、指輪物語をテーマとしたコンセプトアルバムです。本を読んだ人には２倍おいしいアルバムです。

このサードアルバムも名盤ある。前2作と基本的には何も変わらず、ゲイリーヒューズの作品をボブ・カトレイが歌うという形そのままで（ボブ・カトレイはMAGNUM時代から一切曲は書いていない）変わった事といえば、若干バックのサウンドが引っ込んだようになっていて、ボブのボーカルをより強調させている事くらい。ゲイリーのMAGNUMへの尊敬の念が感じられる、これまた前2作と比べる事が出来ない名盤である。最高である。がこの後、MAGNUMの再結成となりこのコラボレートはここで一旦終焉を迎えたのが残念でならない。MAGNUMと平行してソロも続けてほしい

大英帝国が誇るいぶし銀シンガー、ボブ・カトレイの３ｒｄソロ。プロデュースは前作・前々作に続き、ＴＥＮのゲイリー・ヒューズが担当。

今作はそのタイトルが示すとおり、近年の映画化か話題を呼んだ「指輪物語」をモチーフにしたコンセプトアルバムとなっている。

前２作と比べると、曲の一つ一つの風景描写が丁寧になり、長尺のものがメインとなっている。長尺と聞いて構える方もいるかもしれないが、基本の音楽性は不変。壮麗なキーボードを装飾に、ボブ・カトレイの円熟歌唱が冴え渡る叙情メロディック・ロック。

即効性は前２作より劣るかもしれないが、じっくり聴きこむことで、より深い世界が堪能できる。
秋の夜長にゆっくりと浸りたいアルバムである。
