学生時代、列車を乗り継いでよく夜の札幌駅のホームにいた。
そんな時には必ずといって「ホームにて」を口ずさんでいた。
夜の闇の中、今ほど立派ではなかった札幌駅のホームがうかんでくる。
「店の名はライフ」･･･本気でモデルになった店を捜そうとした。
「時は流れて」･･･何度も聞いて、何度ひとりひっそりと涙したことだろう。
時は流れて･･･もう２０年以上になる。あの頃の思い出はひっそりと夜の暗さの中でかみしめる。
もう変わりすぎた自分。そして･･･。
あの当時、もう二度と会えないであろう事にどうしても心が納得できず、気が狂いそうになった。
ずっと聞いた「二度とあんたが見つけられないように」、みゆきさんの歌でどれだけ助けられた事か。

初期の中島みゆき作品の名盤です。
中島作品の代名詞と言ってもよい切ないストーリーを
あえて軽やかなアコースティックサウンドで歌う「遍路」、
彼女の出世作「わかれうた」のＢ面の名曲であり
故郷への思いと都会への未練をオーソドックスなメロディで
歌う「ホームにて」を聞くだけでも価値ある一枚です。

皆さんの評価どおり、中島みゆき初期の名盤です。
私は、「ホームにて」が一番好きです。学生時代、北海道に旅行した時、駅のホームで感じた郷愁。初めての仕事で大阪に出た時のレールにつながるふるさとへの思い。忘れていた様々な感情が湧き上がってきます。「まつりばやし」は、みゆき様がコンサートで様々にアレンジし、取り上げていました。暗さを感じさせず（かといって明るくはないですが）いい味だしてますよね。
　やがて来る「わかれうた」のヒット前の落ち着いたみゆき様を堪能して下さい。
