’８３年発表の、シンディローパーの記念すべき１ｓｔアルバム。
どの曲もピカピカに光り輝いており、シンディの若さ溢れるハイトーンボイスが魅力です。
｢七色の声を持つ女性シンガー｣とは、よく言ったものだ。
「Money Changes Everything」、「Girls Just Want To Have Fun」、「ALL Through The Night」が個人的にはお気に入りです。
シンディの、時には大人っぽく、そして時には子供っぽい歌いっぷりを堪能できます。
「Time After Time」は、その後たくさんのアーティストによってカバーされている名曲です。
そして、このアルバムには、ボーナストラックとして、３曲のライブバージョンが収録されています。
これがまたいい！！
デジタルリマスタリングも施されており、音質も格段に良くなった点も見逃せません。
これだけの素材が揃っていて、値段が２０００円いかないのは、私たちにとって嬉しい限り。
さあ、もう迷わず買いに行きましょう。
絶対に損はしませんよ。

数年前、私の友人がアキバで、妙にド派手な赤髪の外人に思いきって「ハーイ、シンディー!」と声をかけたら、「ヘーイ、プリティボーイ!」と頼みもしないのに思いっきりハグをしてくれたきさくなシンディーおばさん。(失礼) このアルバムの中でシンディーは縦横無尽に飛び跳ねてますよ。たったこの1枚で、アメリカの女性アーティストNO.1に推す人もいますよ。

まず楽曲の良さについては、申し上げることはございません。どの曲も今聴いてもすばらしく、デジタル・リマスターのおかげで音圧等も増し、より聴き手に迫ってきます。ボーナス・トラックのライブ音源も、シンディがパフォーマーとしても素晴らしいことを証明しています。
さらにリマスター効果はアルバム・ジャケットにも及んでおり、写真が以前のものより格段にクリアになっています。ファンの方ならそれだけでもニヤリとされるでしょう。
この名作アルバムの前には、80年代のＭＴＶ世代の遺物という批判は当てはまりません。全人類に聴いていただきたい作品です。
