ブラックサバスのギタリスト、トニー・アイオミのソロアルバム。

聴いてみて、「やはりこの人はこういう事をやりたかったんだ」と納得しました。路線としては、ロニー・Ｊ・ディオが参加したアルバム「ヘブン＆ヘル」のようなメロディアス・ハードロックです。ボーカルがグレン・ヒューズなので、シャウトしても暑苦しくなく非常に耳に心地良く響きます。丁度グレン・ヒューズが参加した「PHENOMENA」にも通ずるものがあり、メロディアス・ハードロック・ファンにはたまらない作品だと思います。

ほとんど分解状態のブラックサバス。ヒューズ／スロール以来、ゲーリ・ムーアのアルバムなどにチラリと出始めていたグレン・ヒューズ。何となく業界にしっくりこなかった時期の二人のコラボレーションと言っていいでしょう。全体として、アイオミのブルージーなギターに、ヒューズの、全盛期の迫力はないけれど、十分にかっこよく、哀愁をおびたボーカルがマッチして、なかなかの作品になっています。オジーの居るサバスを想像した方は？と思うかもしれませんが、曲もなかなかよく、聞き応えはあるのでは。

5.0 out of 5 stars オドロオドロしくないサバス。グレンのヴォーカルが秀逸！, 2007/2/1
ヴォーカルにグレン・ヒューズ（元ディープ・パープル）を迎えての作品。
　パープルでは、カヴァーデイルとツイン・ヴォーカルのスタイルをとっていたものの、グレンのヴォーカルがこれだけ大々的にフィーチャーされていたのは、当時ヒューズ/スロール名義の「仮面の都市」以来２枚目。
　そのグレンの歌いっぷりはというと、パープルやヒューズ/スロールでの激しさは影を潜め、一転して味わい深さの極致を披露しています。渋くしっとりした中低音域。美しいファルセット。今でこそ「神の声」などと賞賛されていますが、当時はこんなに歌が「上手い」人だとは知りませんでした。
　そもそもアイオミのソロ・アルバムとして製作されたせいか、サバスのオドロオドロしさはありません。しかし、極上のブリティッシュ・ハード・ロックが詰まった名盤です。
