ＤＶＤになって、ストーリーが、簡潔になり、綺麗になりました。
あの絵と話を、どうアニメ化するのか、心配でしたが、杞憂でした。
アニメ作品としては、絶品です。文句のつけようがありません。
「綺麗すぎる」という声はあったようですが(笑)。
中世風の、戦国世界を舞台にした、伝奇ものです。

極限状態における、人間の愚かさと優しさが、描かれています。
少しグロいので女性には、とっつくきにくいかもしれませんが、
基本的には人間ドラマですので、どうぞ原作も読んでみて下さい。

主人公の名前はガッツ――と人に言うとたいてい
ガッツ石松？
と聞き返されますが、ガッツ石松の物語ではありません。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　･･････当たり前だ~。

アニメ・ベルセルクについては、原作ファンからはわりと否定的な評価も多いようです。でもわたしは原作を読んでもなお、アニメの方も好きですね~~。

ガッツの黄金時代とその結末は、一種の芸術ですよ。あんなに絶望を味あわせてくれたアニメはそうそうないっすね。
あ、エヴァンゲリオンがあった。
でもあれは、こう言っちゃファンの人は怒るだろうけどストーリーが破綻していた感じ。

ベルセルクはちがいます！　じっくり見れば見るほどあの結末の持つ意味が伝わってくるよ~。ちゃぶ台ひっくり返したわけじゃないんです！
てなわけで、アニメ・ベルセルク、おすすめです。

放映当時、原作をまったく知らなかった事もあり、単なる国取り物語かと思って見てたのですが、途中で信じられないような衝撃の展開に変わってビックリ仰天したのを今でも鮮明に覚えています。あのグリフィスが…!て感じです。ラストはスッキリしませんがあれは最初から決まっていたTVアニメ用ラストなので仕方がないと思います。続きは原作コミックを読めば充分です。とにかく、このDVDは買いです!観ればわかります。
