幼馴染みだった大久保と川野が、路上で歌っているうちにシングル・リリースとなったアコースティックなユニット。真っ赤なリンゴが照れくさかったデビュー曲を含めた、ファースト・アルバム。実にフラットで低体温な彼らの歌声は、懐の深いところまでせつなく響く。キリキリと心にくい込んで、なのにこれっぽちも痛くない、不思議な力強さ。それはきっと、私がいつも「男のひとってズルだよなあ」って思う、ナイーヴさなのだ。むっとした顔しながらもこの声で歌われてしまっては、柔らかく軟らかくなるより他ないんだから。 (堀由希子) --- 2001年03月号

彼らの詞は、恥ずかしいほど美しい。同じ詞を別の二人組フォークユニットが歌えば、「うゎ~、恥ずかしいなぁ」と思ってしまうだろう。しかし、彼らが歌えばそこに切なさが入りこむ。恥ずかしさも笑いもなく、ただ真剣に切ない気持ちで詞が身に入ってくる。「ふれあい」は、よくある二人組ユニットながら、実は異色の存在なのだ。そのファーストアルバムがこれ。フォーク色の強い楽曲が並ぶが、詞の美しさと楽曲の繊細さ、ボーカル大久保の心に響く声が十分堪能できる一枚だ。特に「赤いリンゴ」「胸の音」は失恋した時に聴くと絶対泣ける。
