　中央アジアの風景をバックに、その雰囲気を生かした作品を撮るフドイナザーロフ監督の、日本公開第3作。監督の故郷の、私たちからすれば見たことも無い幻想的な風景と、のんびりと流れる時間、そこに生きる人々、その全てを興味深く鑑賞できる。

　ヒロインを演じたチュルパン・ハマートワのキュートで純真な美貌には誰もが魅力を感じるはず。父親と兄の彼女に対する愛にきゅんとなる。

　最後の30分ほど、それまでのタッチが一変してむくむくと風刺の要素がわきあがってくるところには驚くが、それがまた微笑んでしまうくらいに幸福なのである。これほどその映画の中の世界に浸れたのは初めてかもしれない。監督の次作が日本で公開されますように！

最初に観たときは、内容についていくのにやっとだったけど、一度観て忘れられなくて、何度も結局観てしまいました。舞台のタジキスタンの景色が素晴らしいです。まるで、おとぎ話のような美しさです。ぜひ、何度か観てください。

~初めて観た時、これを真剣に作っている人たちがいたことに目から鱗が落ちました。世界って面白い。このコメディセンスといい、展開といい、今まで観た「映画」というものとは一線を画しています。文章でストーリーを説明すると意味不明ですが最高です。この映画を「好き」と言える人も最高です。この町の雰囲気、空気、真剣なヒロイン、真っ直ぐな登場人物た~~ち、すべてが愛しい。~
