あの有名な『内臓ゲロ』シーンは、芸術の神がフルチに降臨して作らせたとしか思えない名場面! 全体の完成度も高いし、これこそ問答無用の傑作スプラッターでしょう。

昔「ゲイツ・オブ・ヘル」のタイトルで輸入ビデオでひっそりとマニアに広がっていた作品です。
正確にはゾンビ映画ではありませんが、腐乱した死霊たちが霧の立ち込めるダンウィッチの町を徘徊する怪奇ムードがたまりません。
変質者のボブ（「地獄の謝肉祭」でも大暴れのナイスガイ）が近所のオヤジの怒りを買っての死に様も最高です。
全編に流れるファビオ・フリッツィの音楽もサントラ即購入したほど良いです。
未だにＤＶＤ廃盤状態ですが、他メーカーからの画質向上＆特典映像付きで再発を希望！
ちなみに米アンカーベイ版やＥＣエンタ版ＤＶＤはこのＪＶＤ版より数倍画質が鮮明です。

　神父の自殺をきっかけにダンウィッチという田舎町で死者が生き返り怪奇事件が続出するというストーリーの映画ですが、続出する残酷シーンにはストーリーも何もなくなってしまうほどです。（実際には、ラストの意味不明なシーンを除けば、ルチオ・フルチ監督作の中ではストーリー的に最も完成度が高い作品だと思います。）　視覚的に言うと、数ある残酷シーンの中でもこの手の映画ファンの間で人気が高いシーンは死霊と化した神父の力（？）の影響で少女の口から内臓が流れ出る場面です。その他にも種々雑多なグロ・シーンが分単位で続出するので、少なくとも食事中に見るのはやめたほうがいいと思います。
