DVD化されたTV版であるが、
この巻には、踊る大捜査線のよさがすべて凝縮されている！
特筆すべきは第十話のラスト10分。
このシーンこそが、踊る大捜査線のテーマそのものである。
つまり、キャリアである室井と、ノンキャリアである青島が完全にひとつになるシーンだ。
室井の「もう上には何も言わせない！！」このセリフにしびれます。

青島も室井のこの言葉を聞いてすべてを室井にゆだねる決意をするのです。
1~5巻がイントロとまで思えてしまうようなシーンの連続に、自分の目を疑うことすらあるかもしれません。

ちなみに映像特典としてNG集がついてきます。
が、これを見てしまっては・・・・余韻が去ってからにしたほうがいいかもしれません。

劇中で最重要の小道具として繰り返し登場する青いお守りは「靖国神社」のお守りです、青島が交番勤務時代に吉田のおばあちゃんにお礼としてもらったことになっている、（吉田のおばあちゃんが吉田副総監の母親であることを青島は知らない設定）、

靖国神社のお守りをお礼にあげられる老女という設定は、吉田のおばあちゃんが戦争未亡人であること、もしくは兄弟などのごく近親者が戦死したこと暗示させていると解釈できる、深読みすれば湾岸署員たちはかつて戦死し現在は靖国神社に御祭神として祭られる英霊たちによって何度も救われていることになる、

現在、お守りは青・白・赤が販売されているのだが、なぜ青なのかといえば単に青島の青なのかもしれない、

いずれにしても他局ではとうてい無理と思われるフジテレビならではのキャラクター設定と感心します、

伏線やリンクを探す意味でも、純粋なドラマとしてもとても秀逸だと思う。解説付き映像は「ホオ」と思いながら見た。コマーシャルがないのはとてもいい、というより流れが断ち切れない映像こそ踊るの醍醐味。
