今から聞き返しても、色褪せる事の無いbirdの最高傑作だと思います。
発売当時はこんなに格好いいのに
なぜ、もっとメディアに取り上げられないのか...
なぜ、もっと売れないのか...、かなり不思議に思いました。
その後のbirdの音楽性の紆余曲折は、このアルバムの商業的成功が
思う様に振るわなかったからでは？と思ったりもしています。

ともかくゴージャスでソウルフルなアルバム。

モンドグロッソの「Life」で初めて彼女のファンになり、このアルバムを買いました。よくまあ、こんなに動くメロデイーに歌詞を乗せられるものだ、と感心しきり。最初は歌詞が多すぎるように思えましたが、慣れてくると声も楽器のようで、演奏と一体に聞こえる、不思議なアルバム。
名曲揃いの傑作ですが、こういうの日本ではあまり認められないですよね。
でも、ここに入っている曲のハイテンションを維持するのはすごいストレスだったと思います。次のスタジオ盤は、一気にリラックスしましたから。
もう、彼女はここに戻ることはないと思うと、寂しい気がします。

1999 年にリリースされた bird の 2nd.アルバム。
超レベルの高いデビューアルバムとなった前作から、質を落とすどころか更に充実の一途をたどる
名作。個人的には bird のベスト。

出だしの <1>「マインドトラベル」 から bird ワールドに没頭でき、極めて高いテンションで最後まで
聴き通すことができる。大沢伸一と bird のコンビは完全に歯車がガッチリ噛み合っている感じで、
一曲たりとも無駄のないラインナップとなっています。
中でもシングル曲でもある <9>「GAME」 が最高にカッコイイ！（シングル版とミックスが違うので
聞き比べも楽しいです）
また <5>「4 PM」 なども派手さはなく目立たないですが、「bird = 押しの強いヴォーカル」 だけで
はないことを認識できるムーディな一曲。

最後にプチ情報として <6>「これが私の優しさです」 で TWIGY とラップ競演していますが、これ
が縁で後の TWIGY の「ナニナニ」という作品（「The Legendary Mr.Clifton」に収録）に
ラップで お呼ばれ されています。こちらの bird のユーモラスなラップも必聴です！
↑ TWIGY がこの時の彼女の仕事っぷりに対し「bird はプロフェッショナルだ!」　と語ったとか・・・。
五ッ星評価：★★★★☆
