さて、問題です。安室奈美恵はいわゆるJ-R&Bシンガーなのでしょうか? 一般的にはちがうんでしょうね(本人もちがうといっていたけど)。だとしたら、この音楽はなんだろう? お馴染みの小室哲哉とUS・R&B/ヒップホップのトップ・プロデューサーの一人ダラス・オースティンを制作陣に迎えた約1年ぶりの5枚目のアルバム。前作にも参加していたダラスとのコラボレーションは今回ますます充実していて、(3)や(9)などで聴けるクールでオトナっぽいヴォーカルはその賜だ。もちろん、小室先生も負けてはいない。全編英語詞の(5)をぶつけてアルバム全体の“洋楽度”を高めることに成功している。他にも、(4)で難度の高いトーキング・スタイルのヴォーカルを聴かせたかと思えば、(10)では透明感のある審美的な歌声を聴かせるなど、今作での安室はヴォーカリストとしての進境が著しい。気がつくと、歌手・安室奈美恵は、R&BもJ-POPも超えた境地に立っていた、というところか。 (星野吉男) --- 2001年02月号

プロデューサーにおなじみの小室哲哉、ダラスオースティンを迎えて、
前作よりさらにパワーアップした楽曲に加え、
｢えっこれ安室ちゃんが歌ってるの？｣と思ってしまうほど、
艶やかに、さらに魅力を増した奈美恵ＶＯＩＣＥ♪
安室奈美恵らしいダンサブルな物から、
しっとり聴かせるバラードまで、
一聴の価値アリです！！

小室哲哉とダラスオースティンによるプロデュースアルバム第２弾。
前作「GENIUS 2000」よりもダラス色が強くなり、小室さんの楽曲もかなり洋楽テイストになっています。

今の(2008年)の安室ちゃんもR&Bを軸に歌っていて、色んな楽曲を歌っていて更にエンターテイナーになってきている歌姫「安室奈美恵」とってもカッコいいんです。
が...このころ(2000年)の安室ちゃんの楽曲もすごくカッコいいです！！
なんか最近の安室ちゃんよりも、更にダークな感じのブラックミュージックと言う感じです。

まぁ、そのせいで一般受けはあまりしなかったんですが...。

ダークでクールな安室ちゃんが聴きたい人いはオススメです。


カッコいい曲達「break the rules」「LOOKING FOR YOU」「never shoulda」「GIRLFRIEND」

カワイイ曲達「no more tears」「HimAWArI」

バラード曲「NEVER END」「think of me」


今、聴き直してみましたが発売当初気づかなかったかっこよさがあります！！これ名盤です！
最近の安室奈美恵は聴きまくったあなた！ちょっとこれも手に取ってみては？？

前作同様　TKとダラスのダブルプロデューサー体制で制作されたアルバム。
前作での不調和さを踏まえた様子。それは小室サイドが洋楽的な作品スタンスに
切り替え、歩み寄ったコトで、解決されたようでアル。
それは小室曲で全英語詞の、looking for youが最も顕著にあらわれている。
その他：軽いウィスパーボイスが心地よい、no more tearsでは
癒し系ダンスチューンという新スタンスを確立。
音楽番組出演時の衣装でのサンバイザーに疑問を抱きつつもロック風味な
PLEASE SMIL EAGAINはもはや安心して聴ける域。
アンニュイなメロディーラインが斬新なcross overなど、
あくまで泥臭さのない洗練された、日本人作洋制逆輸入R＆Bを提供し続ける。
そんな中で、宇多田ヒカルがutada名義の楽曲で｢and im japanesy｣と歌うがごとし
初日本語タイトル｢himawari｣は日本人としての誇りをも感じさせる。
この作品すべてに言えるが小室的にも新境地といえるメロディースタイルが
この曲で最も発揮されている。
（。。個人的にはlove enhancedに収録されたver.のが好き☆
また、ダラスサイドも前回にも劣らない高品質なR＆Bをあてがっていき、
それによって益々安室自身のボーカルスキルも格段にアップアップと、
循環していく。リカットされたthink of meも、この頃のアムロで、
このプロデューサだから実現できた、最高バラッド！名曲しかないアムロバラードの
中でも異彩を放つ名曲になっている。

あ、忘れてたケド、never endも最高だよ！
言わなくてもわかるか。。

かつてTRFもそうだったように、ひとつの完成形をつくり終えると、
あとはそこで構築したのものを崩していく作業にうつらず終えない。
きっと、洗練されればするごとにアーティストってやつはそんな局面に
たたされる。んだ、と思う。しかし彼女はそれをせず、また新たな音楽の
旅に出たのだ！小室と安室は離れるべくして離れたのだ。
そのことがすごく素敵。
