北京生まれの21歳女性チェリストが、念願のデビュー・アルバムをリリース。{ポスト・ヨーヨー・マ}の呼び声も高いそのテクニックで、無伴奏ながら迫力十分の音の世界を作り上げている。

1979年北京生まれ。現在は東京音大に在籍しながら、ベルリン・カラヤン・アカデミーに留学中のチョウ・チン(趙静)。中国音楽院でチェロを学んでいた彼女を“発見”したのは日本人チェリストの堀良介。すぐに東京音大付属高校への留学生特別奨学生となって来日。ロストロポーヴィチにも認められて、彼がロシア時代に使用していた楽器(1615年製のパオロ・マッジーニ)を貸与されているという。デビュー・アルバムを無伴奏で、というのはかなりの自信家か、あるいは新奇さを狙ったプロモーションのゆえか。なんにしても、その才能の大きさをきっちりと示すことになった。まず驚かされるのはその音色の多彩さ。その豊かな色彩感覚を自由自在に使って演奏されるスケールの大きい音楽。見え隠れする中国系のアーティストらしい独特の“粘り”も、そのおおらかな音楽性の前では一種の味わいとなる。まだまだ大きくなる。そんな予感でドキドキしながら聴ける一枚だ。次はぜひ、ロマン派を。 (堀江昭朗) --- 2000年12月号
