初めは服部先生アレンジの「It's Only Love」のクラシック版（ベスト『風をさがしてる』収録）を想像していたのですが、聴いてびっくり！福山さん本人は歌っていません、純粋なクラシックです。なので、以前抱いていた曲のイメージとは違った、自分オリジナルのそれぞれの曲のイメージの世界が広がっていきます。目を閉じて聴くとさらに広がります。クラシックファンにもお勧めです。それぞれのリードをとる楽器もピッタリで、これが、あの曲？とリストを確認してびっくりしました。さすがです！

福山雅治の曲を英国の名門、ロイヤル・フィルがクラシカルに演奏するコラボレーションCD（編曲/服部隆之、指揮/デビッド・アーノルド）。原曲をかなり積極的にクラシックへアレンジしています。CDを聴いていて「えっ、これ何の曲？」と思うこともあるほど。それを気に入るかどうか評価の分かれるところかもしれませんが、僕はかなり楽しめました。クラシック演奏だけで福山自身は歌っていませんが、最後のクリスマスソング「Kissin' in the holy night」は本人が歌っている新録曲です。

クラッシック的なアレンジにこだわりすぎて原曲の良さが死んでいる気がする、たぶん多くのマシャファンはもう少しライトなアレンジにして欲しかったと思ってるのでは？
クラッシックではないが、ボーカル入りでジャズアレンジの「Kissin’in the holy night」がこのＣＤの中で一番良く感じた・・・
ただ、このＣＤはすごく音がいい、音の透明度や輪郭etc

このＣＤはマシャファンよりはクラッシックファンに聞いて欲しい一枚だと思う
