最近のジェット・リ-の作品を観た人はこれを観る価値あり！ですね。マーシャル・ア-ツのル-ツと言ってもいいと思います。
中国武術団の青年が広いアメリカで親友の殺人のるれぎぬをきせられ

その中で同じ国の人間との運命をたどるストーリ-は李・リンチェイのすばらしい武術も観れ、今現在の奥様のニナ・リ-さんが初共演してます。二人とも共演から１０年後に結婚すると思っていたのでしょうか？

ういういしいニナ・リ-さんと若々しいジェット・り-はたまらないです。音楽がせつなさを感じさせてヒットしなかった映画でしたが哀愁がありますよ！！

若き日の李連杰の秀作。約10年後に彼が本格的にハリウッド進出することを考えると、さらに感慨深いものがあります。
ジャケットは李連杰オンリーですが、実は周星馳との共演作。21世紀の香港二大明星、幻の共演です。

劇中でリンチェイは中国武術界のスター、周星馳はアメリカの叔父さんの店で働く青年でリンチェイのファンという役。リンチェイの正義感あふれる青年と、ちゃらんぽらんなシンチーのコンビは観ていてとても楽しく、ほほえましいもの。なかなかイケてます。
李連杰の表演とストリート・アクションの両方が堪能できます。ディック・ウェイの武術指導のもと、背の高いアメリカ人相手に棍術を華麗にきめるリンチェイ！必見です。
またシンチーは、役はちゃらんぽらんながら、マフィアの麻薬売買にしだいに巻き込まれていく過程の葛藤や悲哀を見事に演じていて、さすが！彼の英語が聞けるのも貴重。
そしてドラマは壮絶なラストへ・・・李連杰ファンも、周星馳ファンも、両方のファンならひと粒で二度おいしい一本ですよ！
それにしても、ほぼ同い年の二人、舞台裏でどんな夢を語り合ってたんでしょうね。

どうなんでしょう？これは。
ストーリーの強引さは香港映画だから許したいけれど、それでも後味が悪い感じがしました。なんだか大事なことが中途半端で終わってしまったような･･･。
この作品で注目すべきところは、現在は大スターになったジェット･リーとチャウ･シンチーが共演しているということですね。ジェット･リーはまだリー･リンチェイと呼ばれていたときだし、シンチーはまだコメディ俳優として当たる前です。棒で戦うリーの「少林寺」ばりの華麗さが見ていてワクワクしました。それにシンチーはギャグなしの映画で見ると「あ~この人、演技上手いんだわ」って思います。
若き日の２人を見られるということでは収穫ありますが、作品としてはどうなんだろう･･･。
