二人が{トム&ジェリー}と名乗っていた頃のシングルや、コンビ解消後それぞれが発表したシングルなど21曲を集めた。ポールのソングライターとしての多彩な才能が認識できる興味深い内容。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

サイモンとガーファンクルの物語は、元を辿れば57年に組んだトム&ジェリーから始まる。いわゆるオールディーズ期だ。しかし最初のシングルがヒットしたくらいだったのでアルバムを出さずして一度コンビを解消。それからポール・サイモンはジェリー・ランディスとかトゥルー・テイラーなどの名義でシングルを録音したり楽曲提供などに励み、一方でアート・ガーファンクルはアーティー・ガーという名でソロを2枚発表した。それらのシングルを集めたのが本作。手軽にS&G結成前の歴史が総ざらいできる代物である。 (江藤美夜) --- 2000年11月号

　ご存知の通りサイモン＆ガーファンクルは1956年にTom＆Jerryとして"Hey Schoolgirl" でデビューしました。このCDでは二人の歴史的なデビュー曲であるこのシングルとそのB面を初め "That's My Story", "Simon Says", "Tia-Juana Blues" などTom&Jerry名義の作品や、ポール・サイモンの"True Or False", "Teenage Fool", "Just A Boy", "Shy", "Play Me A Sad Song", "It Means A Lot To Them"やガーファンクルの"Beat Love", "Dream Alone"など、サイモン＆ガーファンクル以前のソロ作品がまとめて聴くことが出来ます。マニアには垂涎の内容かもしれません。
