　このＣＤは、３枚組で「赤歌」「青歌」「白歌」とそれぞれのＤｉｓｃにタイトルが付けられています。僕は、今まで村下さんの歌は「初恋」と「踊り子」しか知らなくて、あまり縁のないアーティストであり興味さえありませんでしたが、知り合いの紹介でこのＣＤの「白歌」がアコギでの弾き語りばかりだと聴き購入しました。部屋の中で、ボリュームを上げ眼を閉じて聴いていると村下さんが僕の前で、僕だけの為に演奏してくれているような、そんな気持ちにさせてくれます。今までいろんなアーティストのＣＤを聴いてきましたが、こんな素晴らしいＣＤに出逢ったのは初めてです。

村下孝蔵さんといえば、若くして急逝されたという重い事実があるために、どの曲を聴いても何かしら哀愁のようなものを感じてしまいます。

このアルバムには、村下さんの代表曲が概ね収められていますが、個人的には、「歌人」や「恋路海岸」や「この国に生まれてよかった」などがどうして収録されていないのかという不満もあります。しかし、それを補って余りあるのが、弾き語り集の「白歌」です。村下さんに興味がある方なら、この１枚のためだけでも買う価値はあると思います。

私は、村下さんのライブに三度行きました。二度は大きなホール、一度は雑居ビルの中にあるライブ・ハウスでした。印象に残っているのは小さなライブハウスでの公演の方で、これは、「弾き語り」こそが村下さんの真骨頂だったからかも知れません。（例の生ギターでのベンチャーズも弾いてくれました。）

平易な日本語で語りかけるように歌う村下さんの「弾き語り」は、類まれなギター・テクニックとともに永遠に封印されてしまいました。そのことを、心から寂しく思います。

　村下孝蔵さんが亡くなってから、今まで出されていた数々のベストアルバムとは趣を異にする内容となっています。収録されている曲を見ますと、それまであまりベスト集に収録されていなかった曲が入っていて、非常に内容の濃い物になっていると思います。

　特に「白歌」は村下さんのギター弾き語りで収録されており、ギターという楽器の奥深さを感じることができると思います。
　昔からのファンの方、また、最近ファンになった方にも絶対のお勧めです。是非聴いて欲しいです。
