ボーカルであるファビオ・リオーネの歌声には聞き入ってしまう魅力がある。メタルにクラシック系の声は違ったメタルの味を引き出している。このアルバムについてはスピード・パワー・メロディをかねそなえていて、ライブで歌われていたドーン・オブ・ビクトリーやホーリー・サンダーフォースなどが入っています。スピード、パワー、そしてメロディありのアルバムです。しかしそのパワーやスピード、メロディは新譜であるパワー・オブ・ザ・ドラゴンフレイムにはやはり劣ってしまうんじゃないでしょうか。しかし決してできの悪いアルバムじゃなく新譜が良すぎというものからです。なにはともあれファビオ・リオーネの歌声はトリハダもの！スゴすぎ！！

自称「ハリウッド・メタル」という呼び名が決して誇張ではなく、普通なら失笑をされかねないながらも、当然存在するジャンルとして認めざるを得ないレベルの作品を打ち立てた、ファンタジック・メタルの王者RHAPSODYの３ｒｄフル。

１ｓｔ「LEGENDARY　TALES」、２ｎｄ「SYMPHONY　OF　THE　ENCHANTED　LANDS」と、デビュー以来、立て続けに超ド級の高品質作品を発表してきた彼ら。
１ｓｔ以来続くコンセプト作の第３章となる本作は、「いままで以上の作品は作り得るのか？」とのリスナーの期待の入り混じった不安を一撃で屠るクオリティに満ちた、まさにモンスター級の仕上がり。

物語の進行を明確に感じさせる、昂揚感とスリルを増した楽曲表現はひたすら劇的で美しい。
生の弦楽器や練りこまれたクワイア、アレンジの妙は、完全に他の模倣バンドとは別次元のクオリティ。

ここに来て一段と表現力を増した看板シンガー、ファビオ・リオーネの歌唱も実に素晴らしく、壮大な世界を見事に描ききっていると言えよう。（次作ではもっとスゴイことになってるけど＾＾；）

幻想的な部分はとことん幻想的に、勇壮な部分やひたすら勇壮に。絶妙なバランスの上に成り立ったファンタジック・メタル、好き嫌い云々は別にして、全メタル耳の持ち主は一度は触れるべき作品。

前作である第２章は、名曲「エメラルド・ソード」を筆頭に、素晴らしい作品を提示した。
既にラプソディーというジャンルを確立しつつある彼らの、待望の第３章が本作である。

さすがに前作の素晴らし過ぎる楽曲と、強烈過ぎるインパクトと比較してしまうと、
どうもこのアルバムは見劣り？聴き劣り？してしまう。
しかしそういう観念を排除して本作を聴くと、良い楽曲も多く、複雑な展開、素晴らしい演奏能力は健在である。
イタリアの民族音楽を上手く融合させていることや楽曲の方向性としては前作と同様だが、
フルートなど管楽器を前面に押し出している点は、前作と異なる。

内容は、伝説の剣エメラルド・ソードを手にした氷の戦士がアンセロットへ向かうところから始まる。
ブラック・キングの取引に応じることしかできず、
結局、勇者アルワルドと恋中であったアンセロット王女アイリンの死を伴い、
そしてエメラルド・ソードが悪のアクロンに渡ってしまうという、散々たるストーリーだ。

物語はいよいよ半分を超えた。
アクロンの企みとは何か？エメラルド・ソードは？氷の戦士達の運命は？？
次回へと続く....。
