   TVシリーズとして久々に復活した2000年版「仮面ライダー」。ディテイルひとつ疎かにしないストーリー、リアルな設定、凝った映像、細やかな感情描写等で、親子二世代の人気を獲得した。
   物語の中心は警察と古代種族グロンギとの戦いで、人間殺戮（さつりく）をゲームとして楽しむグロンギに、偶然超古代の力を得た雄介は仮面ライダークウガとなって「みんなの笑顔を守るため」壮絶なる戦いに身を投じる。
   主人公・五代雄介役のオダギリジョー、一条刑事役の葛山信吾は同作品で人気爆発。いわゆる“イケメン・ヒーロー”が女性ファンを獲得。とりわけヤング・ミセス層の加熱ぶりは、その後のシリーズのキャスティングに大きな影響を与えたほど。（斉藤守彦）

当時観ていた時にはあまり思い入れが無かったのですが
今見てみるとすごいドラマな仕上がりだったんですね。
第ニ話の戦闘は必見

2000年にテレビ朝日系列で放送され、新たな新時代ヒーローとして
デビューしたクウガ。俳優オダギリジョーの出世作でもある。
古代遺跡から蘇った邪悪な先住民族と、古代の遺物（変身ベルト）を
偶然装着してしまった青年・五代雄介の１年に渡る死闘を描く。
第一話・第二話は元祖仮面ライダーのオマージュとして

クモ種怪人とコウモリ種怪人が登場。戦闘初経験のクウガを苦しめる。
第３~４話ではクウガの愛車トライチェイサー2000が登場し
新たな舞台、東京を疾走する。バイクアクションが本作の魅力だろう。

私もオダギリジョーさんの最近のクウガについての発言を知って、素直に楽しめなくなってしまったクチですが、それでもクウガは単なるヒーローものの枠を飛び越えた最高傑作！
変身シーンを抜けば、十分日本版Ｘファイル？のようなテイストの大人のアクションサスペンスドラマとしても十分楽しめる、最高の完成度を持った作品ではないかと思います
炎の中で初めて赤いクウガになるシーンと、トライチェイサー初登場シーンは燃えます！
