19歳で、ストリングスアレンジとかまで全部やっちゃってるし、しかもあの当時（1972年）とは思えない洒脱さを湛えているんだから、これはもう神業というしかないですね。後にピコこと樋口康男氏は、どちらかというと裏方に廻って、アーティストとしては表舞台には出なくなるんですが、それもこのアレンジの力量を見せつけられれば、、納得といった感じです。本人も自分の声があまり好きではなかったようだし。確かにこのアルバムの唯一の弱さがあるとしたら、ＧＳ特有のというか、なんともなよなよしたボーカルなんですね。このボーカルは、当時の時流で仕方ないのでしょうが、もう少し男らしく歌っていてくれたらなという気がしてしまいます。しかし、曲の間奏とかは、ものすごくカッコイイ。ジャズのフィーリングなどごく当たり前といった感じで、ボンボン出てきます。全く音楽の申し子のような人とは彼のような人のことをいうんでしょう。

ピコこと樋口康雄さんのファースト・アルバムです。（72年当時19歳）
メロディーもアレンジも、聴けば聴くほど奥が深い作品です。
「ソフトロックというよりは、アイドルポップスに近いかな？」と感じる方もいるかもしれませんが、聴いてみて損はないと思います。
とりあえず、代表作「I LOVE YOU」は、すべてのソフトロックファン必聴です！
姫野達也さん（元チューリップ）、日高富明さん（元ガロ）のヴォーカルが好きな方は声を聴いただけで好きになるはずです♪

そして“abc”はどうしても手に入れたいレコードのベスト・ワン。

うん。たとえばキャロル・キングの『つづれおり』みたいなもんで、こういうアルバムこそ“名盤”と呼ぶにふさわしいね。何度聴いても飽きがこない。当時まだ10代だったピコこと樋口さんがすべての作・編曲とヴォーカルを担当してるわけだけど、天才がちょっと本気出した時のすごさだとか、若い才能の持つみずみずしさが、この盤全体にはあふれている。しかも妙な気負いだとか「俺がオレが」な感じも全くしないし、聴いていて実に気持ちがいい。個人的には、A&M調というか、ブレッドっぽい温かみのある「アダムとイブも」にハートをつかまれたかも。あと「マリー」は今、アイドル系の誰かがカヴァーしても全く違和感ないと思う。ご本人いわく“オマケ”だというラストの「ABC」まで、すべてが聴きどころ。ブックレットに掲載のロング・インタビューも必読。

なお、なかにし礼、山川啓介ら豪華な顔ぶれと並んで、根強い人気の「I LOVE YOU」など計４曲の作詞を、ピコと共にシング・アウトに在籍していた石川セリが手がけている点も見逃せない。このアルバムと同時期に、ピコは彼女のファースト・アルバム『パセリと野の花』を制作しており、２枚を比較して聴いてみるのも面白いかもしれない（セリ＆ピコのコラボレーションによる他の楽曲を追加収録した『Seri sings Pico - パセリと野の花+13』というアルバムもあり）。
