絶好調のルイサダが、ショパン解釈とならんで高い評価を受けているシューマンを取り上げる。来日時にも好演を聴かせた「謝肉祭」をはじめ、代表的なピアノ曲で作曲家の魂の変遷をたどる。

名手ルイサダによるシューマン・ピアノ作品集。1997年BMGクラシックス/RCAレッドシールと専属契約を結んだとき、すでに録音が予定されていたもの。まさに“待ちに待った”登場である。今回、プログラムの中心となるのは「謝肉祭」、ほかに「パピヨン」「アラベスクop.18」、そしてシューマン最晩年の作とされる「天使の主題による変奏曲」という比較的めずらしい作品を収録。ルイサダは真摯なアプローチで各曲を弾き進めており、いずれも注目すべき高い内容をもつ演奏。“シューマン弾き”として高い評価を得ているルイサダだが、これらの演奏でますますそのイメージが濃くなった。なかでも強く印象に残ったのは「謝肉祭」と「天使の~」。前者は、シューマンの激しさと穏やかさのあいだを揺れ動く感情と、煩雑に変化する曲想を、まろやかなやわらかい音と豊かな響きで見事に描き出しており、後者は、舞い降りた幻影と銀色の時間を紡ぎ出すかのような味わい深い演奏である。 (横堀朱美) --- 2000年12月号
