洗いざらしのデッキシューズのアップ。誰もいないステージへ向かって歩き始めるデビット・バーン。肩にはアコースティックギター、手には安物のモノラルカセットデッキ。「1曲やるぜ。」と言い、カセットのスイッチをグイっと押し込むと、サイコキラーのリズムセクションが流れ始める・・・これだけで背筋がゾワーって来ました。思いだしただけでもカッコいいと感じることのできるヴィデオ。

Talking heads の Stop making sense を検索してたどり着いた貴方ならばこの作品のスゴさとか素晴らしさをくどくどと説明するまでもないのでそのへんは割愛します。
副音声解説が充実しているので（デビッド、ティナ、クリス、ジョナサンが交互に喋る が 会話ではない）、それに字幕が付いているこちらの日本盤の方を御勧めします。歌詞には字幕はありません。
追加の三曲はテレビ放送用のビデオソースのようで、本編に比べると質が一段落ちます。
Stop making sense （意味があることを止めろ）とは彼らの曲のコンセプトであり、ステージのコンセプトでもあります。無意味の意味を探らずに、ここはひととき素直に彼らに踊らされましょう。

DVD版が出ていたのを知って改めて観てみたが、以前のVHS版に納められていた曲が、ボーナストラックとして本編とは別になっていた。DVD版で音がとても良くなっているのに、曲を一連の流れで聴けないことが非常に残念。
ただ、これを観ていると体が勝手に動きだす感覚は未だ色褪せず。
