母親から「にんじん」という渾名を付けられ、目の敵にされている少年フランソワ。
父は自分にも家庭にも無関心。
そんな状況だけど、健気に懸命に生きているフランソワ。
女中と楽しげに会話したり、好きな女の子と結婚式の真似事をしたりしてる姿は、本当に元気な可愛らしい様なので、その後の彼の思い詰めていく様は、本当に痛々しい。
母親が何故フランソワに冷たいのか、明確な理由も教えられないため、母親への苛ただしさがつのる。
果たしてフランソワに救いは与えられるのか？と、ドキドキしながら観てました。
