   1944年異国の地で戦死した若者「ジャガー」。肉体が滅んだことに気づかない彼の魂が、祖国に残してきた恋人「マリー」を探して、50年後の1994年にタイムスリップしてくるというストーリーに基づいたコンセプト・アルバム。
   肉体は滅びても魂は永遠に生きているという彼らなりの「人間の死」への解釈がテーマになっているだけあり、歌詞を追うだけでもその深さを感じ取れるが、その言葉がサウンドと融合することにより、ビジュアライズされた彼らのスピリットを深く感じ取ることができる。彼らの代表曲<9>も収録されている。（多田ライコウ）

懐かしくも新鮮なサウンド。
そして一番の魅力は吉井和哉氏のセクシーな歌声。

コンセプト・アルバムの場合、空気感だけを大事にしすぎて一曲のクオリティを落としている作品がありますが、この作品は一曲一曲が個性的で力強くそれでいて緊張感のある空気を最後まで勢いを失う事無く保っています。

ヴォーカルだけではなく、ギター・ベース・ドラムの音からも作品への強い思いが伝わってきます。
バンドの強みを感じる事のできる作品です。

この作品は気合を入れて挑むよりは、気楽にジャガーの世界を楽しむほうが正解かもしれませんね。

なんと言うべきか、THE YELLOW MONKEYの8枚あるオリジナルアルバムの中で最も高い評価をあげてしまう。どの曲を聴いても濃厚すぎて最初はついていけないかもしれないが、このアルバムが好きになるころにはもうイエローモンキーの曲で嫌いな曲はないと言っていいだろう。
1曲目のSECOND CRYが一番の衝撃だ。こんなストレートすぎる表現方法、普通思い浮かばない。それが吉井和哉の凄さであろう。他にも大代表曲である悲しきASIAN BOYを収録。そして個人的に思い入れの深い最後の曲MERRY X'MASは号泣物である。
これが彼らなりのZiggy Stardustである。グラム感は少々薄れているかもしれないが、このアルバムこそ彼らの最高傑作と言っても過言じゃないはず。

まさにイエモンの核と言ったアルバムです。シングル曲を聴いて（特に後半の）「いいなぁ」と思った方でこのアルバムを聞くと正直受け入れられないと思います。シングルだけでなく、他のアルバムなども聞き込んで「イエモンって最高じゃん！」と思った方はこのアルバムを聞かないと一生後悔します（笑）
