フリートウッドマックの記念すべきファーストアルバム。　ジェレミーが好き勝手に、エルモア･ジェームスを弾き倒しているときは、抑えたバッキングに徹しているが、自分の曲になると、華麗なるソロを存分に聴かせてくれるピーター・グリーン。　
聴き所は、６テイクまで取っているI loved another woman。
現在ゲーリー・ムーア所有の'59年製のレスポールから繰り出される独特のフェーズ･アウトした素晴らしいギターノート。
1音1音が輝きを放ってます。

これほどまでにバンド自身のサウンドスタイルを変化させたバンドは少ない、それは同時にメンバーの出入りが激しいことも同時に意味する。これは完全に『ブルーズロック』。キーワードは『渋過ぎ』。無理にたとえると『憂歌団』だな。ピーターグリーンという感情表現に優れたギタリストが中心であり、楽曲はとにかく黒人ブルーズにどっぷりになっているものが多い。その解釈はかなり本格的であり、これを聞けばゲーリームーアがピーターのファンであることも納得できる。ブルーズロックの名盤。シンプルな形式に感情表現を込める、これはまるで俳句の世界だな。ハーモニカ＋ボトルネックがしぶくしぶく決まってます。
