ミト(bass)、原田郁子（vocal、keyboards）、伊藤大助（drums）の3人組のユニット「クラムボン」の1st Album。jazzを基盤としてそれをポップにアレンジした軽快な曲（主にミト氏が作曲）に、どこか力が抜けているイメージが漂う声なのだけど、よくよく聴いてみると力強く耳に入ってくる、そんな原田郁子さんの不思議な歌声をのせた、まさに「クラムボンの曲」としか表現できないほど、独特で本当に不思議な魅力を感じる。

歌詞は全曲原田郁子さんが手がけているのだけど、これもまた不思議な魅力を醸し出している。特に「風邪をひいたひょうしに」、「いたくない いたくない」は、その原田郁子さんの歌詞の、なんというか不可思議な魅力に溢れた名曲。

「あまいシロップには騙されないわ
にがいにがい薬とにらめっこ
涙が出るほど飲みたくない
飲まなければ休みは続くばかり
いや逆立つうぶ毛」…「風邪をひいたひょうしに」

「変わりたいのに
変われないんでしょ
嫌われるのをこわがってるだけじゃ

いつでも何か探しているだけで」…「いたくないいたくない」

ちょっと他のバンドとは比べることができない「クラムボン」の音楽。一度手にとって、聴いてみられてはいかが？聴いているうちにふと、「クラムボン」の音楽の中から、新しい世界の音楽が聴こえてくるかもしれませんよ。

日本のベンフォールズファイブなんて紹介のされ方もしたけど、歌心があるギターレスバンドという点では一致してると思います。まず１曲目「はなればなれ」は個人的に出会えて良かった運命の大名曲！この曲だけでも満足ですが、そのほかにも「雲ゆき」や「パンと蜜をめしあがれ」など佳曲が詰まっています。まずはここから。

デビュー作ながら、才気あふれるアルバム。

まず、曲のセンスがいい。
詩も素晴らしい。

何より、このアルバムはピアノの音が彼女の独特のボーカルに絡んで物凄く気持ちいいのです。

ギターポップに飽きた人はぜひ、このピアノポップを体験してください。

個人的には、彼らのアルバムの中でも最も好きな一枚だ。
