坂本龍一ファン向けのレビューになってしまいますが、表題作の「クロニック・ラヴ」は、教授のアルバム「未来派野郎」に収録されている名曲「バレエ・メカニック」のリメイク版です。クラブ・ミュージック風のドライブ感のあるアレンジになっていますが、どちらもそれぞれによいと思います。

高揚感のあるメロディが、素朴なヴォーカルと透明感のあるアレンジに乗り、
なぜか忘れられない独特の魅力を醸し出す曲です。

実はこの曲、岡田有希子さんの「ヴィーナス誕生」というアルバムに収録されている
「wonder trip lover」という曲の歌詞違いのリメイクでもあります。
「クロニック・ラブ」よりも１０数年も前のアレンジによるものですが、そちらも素晴らしい録音。
彼女のアーティストとしての可能性まで感じさせるものになっています。

中谷美紀さんの個性がこの曲の表現に大きな魅力を与えていることはもちろんですが、
２つのバージョンを聴いて、この曲自体の強い普遍性は案外見落とされているかもしれないと思いました。
事実、坂本龍一さんも「ballet mechanique」というタイトルでこの曲をセルフ・リメイクしています。

機会があれば、是非それらのバージョンも聴いてみてください。
改めて、この曲を好きになれるかもしれません。

たまらないです
聴いてて　ぐっと来てしまう曲

声はささやく感じですが意外に怒涛の展開というか
激しさを感じる曲も相まってとてもドラマチックす。

いや声もいいんです
あのけだるいウィスパーボイスあっての
この曲です
ドラマにもジャストフィットしてましたね
