愛する人と暮らす家庭の温かさ。
報われぬ恋の切なさ。
女の友情。
恋の駆け引き。
穏やかな回想。
心の奥底にしまった昔日の恋。
戯れの恋人。
かなわなかった初恋。
日常にちりばめられた小さな幸せ。
甘く苦いロマンス。
自分だけの生き方探し・・・
と、さまざまなテーマを見事に描き分ける、
まりやさんのソングライターとしての実力の確かさが
味わえるアルバム。
ファンの大多数を占めるであろうサイレント・マジョリティの
女性たちがそれぞれの人生で突き当たる出来事を同じ目線で
とらえているところが、本盤の魅力でありロングセラーの所以だろう。

個人的には、歌詞の中で「冷蔵庫」という言葉が新鮮に響いた01.,
岡田有希子に捧げられたロッカ・バラッドの09.,
まりやさんのフランス語の歌唱が聴ける10. がお気に入り。

達郎さんの過不足ないアレンジメントも、いつもながらお見事。
スタンダード・ナンバーの06. が、シークエンスの中で
いいアクセントになっている。

説教臭さは微塵もないが、これからの人生を思案中の女性におすすめ。

映像が浮かんでくるような印象的な歌詞とその世界を鮮やかに彩る
ｱﾚﾝｼﾞﾒﾝﾄの絶妙さにはただ脱帽するしかない。
お二人の夫婦生活が本当のところどうなのかは他人には判らないけれど
達郎氏の深い想いに包まれてまりやさんは本当に良い歳の重ね方を
されているように感じる。
「COOL DOWN」や「AFTER　YEARS」のようなﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭｰｽをするｱﾚﾝｼﾞｬｰは
おそらく彼だけだろうし、何気ない日常生活のゆるやかな経過の果てに
歳相応の達観を感じさせる詩はまりやさんにしか書けない気がする。
まさに心静かな生活、ゆるやかでも確実な老い、それでもいつまでも
忘れられない気持ち、そんないろんなものが詰まった愛聴盤である。
人間に対する眼差しに慈しみを感じて、心癒される向きも多いだろう。

日本のカーペンターズ＋ビーチボーイズ。見事なまでのサウンド処理である。竹内の声質にぴったりあったアレンジがつぼにはまっている。アメリカンポピュラーミュージックのおいしいところを寄せ集めたようなプロダクションに驚く。　　１０点中８点
