5.0 out of 5 stars ＫＡＮのロックアルバム, 2006/9/19
ロックアルバムという触れ込みで発売された作品です。
いかにも「ロック」という感じの３曲と、本人曰く「ロックバラード」である「紅のうた」と半分がロックナンバーで占められている。

１曲目「ロック試練の恋」はビートルズやクイーンを連想させ、全体が明るいアメリカンな感覚の音に仕上げられていて非常に心地よいです。ライブでも一番演奏されているよう。
しかし「ロック試練の恋」というタイトルである以上は「ジャズ試練の恋」や「弾き語り試練の恋」もいつかは聞いてみたいかも・・・

このアルバムで一番の名曲は「５０年後も」で間違いないでしょう。後に弾き語りの限定版にも収録されていますが、どちらもそれぞれの味があり素晴らしいです。もともとが半端ない良質のメロディーなので、どんなアレンジでも良さは失われないのでしょう。

しかしこのアルバムでは、意外にもロックとは遠い位置にある「Happy Time Happy Song」「英語でゴメン」などのポップス系の曲の良さが際立っています。特に「Happy Time Happy Song」はタイトルとは裏腹に非常に深みのある完璧な歌詞。「Tigersongwriter」における「サンクトペテルブルグ」のような、アルバムの中核に置くべき名曲。
これぞＫＡＮ。

どの曲もちゃんとそれぞれのキャラがあり、いわゆる「捨て曲」などひとつもない。「ＭＡＮ」以降のＫＡＮ作品の質の高さは半端じゃないのです。

ロックアルバムだがKANらしい全体的にポップ感のあるアルバムだ。 話題の車は走るだが僕も含め槇原敬之ファンの方だったらニヤリとしてしまう。(ミーハーなマッキーファンでは分かりにくいかも…) 歌い方もマッキーに似せている感もする。 それに、KANの歌の主人公はいつも情けない奴(僕も人のコトは言えないが…)が多いが、この曲の男はハッピーエンドだ……だから「すいません」なのだ。 ちなみにこの「すいません」だがKANは槇原敬之にこのフレーズだけ歌わせたかったらしい(KANのギャグかもしんないが) 全部で9曲と少ない感もするがそれを抜群の質感でカバーしている。

ポップスの印象が強いKANが、ロックアルバムを意識してつくったアルバム。PAUL McCARTNEYやQUEENを感じさせるナンバーが、かっこいいです。「５０年後も」や「英語でゴメン」はうつくしいバラードで、こちらもおすすめ。槇原敬之そっくりのアレンジに挑戦した「車は走る」もたのしい。
