ポーランド出身のホイナツカは,クラヴサン(チェンバロ)による現代音楽演奏の,先駆者的存在。大半が彼女に献呈された曲であり,70年代後半の録音。この楽器のための様々な試みを彼女は見事にクリアーし,チェンバロの新たな可能性を力強く示した。

DISC1は「クラヴサンの新しい側面」、DISC2は「クラヴサンの現在」というタイトルがついている。どちらも1970年代の録音。ピアノのような強靭なフレームから、ピアノよりもずっとメカニカルな音が弾き飛ばされるように出てくるモダンチェンバロ。古楽演奏ではヒストリカルチェンバロが主流だそうだが、現代ものをモダンチェンバロで聴くのはこれとはまったくちがい、創作楽器の演奏を聴いているよう。そうなると、リゲティもクセナキスも関係なく楽しくなる。ドナトーニとマーシュではジャン＝ルイ・ジルがポジティヴ・オルガンを演奏し、ホイナツカの鋼鉄のような響きに寄り添う。メイエルは後半（幻想的楽章）の旋律が怖い。アルド・クレメンティの2曲はせわしなく上昇する半音階が快感。フェラーリは、静かにリズムを刻みながら持続する電子音と、器械的なチェンバロとの絡み合いがいい。
